Creativity + Passion = Success
I am passionate, energized, and creative and am always searching for opportunities to put my talents to good use. I graduated cum laude from Loyola University Chicago with a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology and a passion for design and big ideas. I am entrepreneurial at heart and strive to create products and services that transform the healthcare market.
I work at UnitedHealth Group, for an R&D team called the Garage where I get the opportunity to work on making the health care system work better for everyone. It may sound overblown, but I have the opportunity to research, design, and create new businesses that solve real problems. I'm constantly experimenting, learning, and laughing - they go well together quite well.
Not too long ago, studied psychology and criminal justice and I was planning to become a PhD forensic psychologist, and then realized an academic life isn't suited to me just yet. So I took a position at the University of MN, Fairview for 5 years, and learned a bit about leadership, change management, technology implementation, and behavioral psychology.
I then got a job at Optum where I worked on initiatives related to consumer facing strategic initiatives, clinical program delivery and consumer engagement. I am currently working on my MBA at the University of Saint Thomas and sit on the Roundtable innovation group at UHG. I'm currently working as an Entrepreneur in Residence in UHG's R&D Garage program.
After realizing my passion for innovation and entrepreneurship I started a new business called StarterLabs. StarterLabs provides consulting services, technology development, digital marketing, video production for clients. We provide both standard pay-for-service consulting as well as a mixed equity payment arrangement for companies that are bootstrapping and a strapped for cash in the short run, but have mid to long term growth potential.
